Came across the Xanadu project which bears striking resemblance in means of
publishing/deployment. Found, however, the Xanadu approach too limited,
involving very much effort to create the hyperlinks manually. Too little
benefit. The system should facilitate the automatic generation of hyperlinks to
words/phrases/quotations/persons/publications etc.

Idea born after return from Benares.
Developed experimental database access kernel and text editor.
Improved data access components and GUI components.
Developed file system explorer.
Integration into Eclipse(tm) proved unsuccessful due to lack of Unicode support
and other restrictions.
Decided to build the editor as standalone Swing application which can be
deployed as an applet.
Improved theoretical background, clarified ideas.
